Gunspin is a physics-based distance game built on one wonderfully absurd premise: the recoil from firing your gun flings you through the air, and shooting repeatedly keeps you airborne longer. You start each run with a selected firearm — pistol, shotgun, revolver, rifle, or one of several unlockable exotic options — and a set number of bullets. Pull the trigger to launch, then continue firing in calculated bursts to maintain altitude and extend your flight. Every bullet fired propels you further along the scrolling level while terrain below offers bonus-coin landing zones: grass rewards moderate coins, elevated platforms offer larger bonuses, and bouncing pads reflect your trajectory to gain additional distance. The challenge lies in bullet economy: fire too rapidly and you'll exhaust your ammo mid-flight and crash; conserve too aggressively and you'll lose altitude and land short of the best bonus zones. Coins fund a persistent upgrade tree between runs — extra bullet capacity, faster reload speed, and a recoil multiplier that converts each shot into greater forward thrust. Unlockable weapons change the flight physics entirely: the shotgun delivers massive initial burst with rapid altitude loss, while the sniper rifle delivers minimal recoil per shot but with extreme bullet velocity that carries you forward rather than upward. Challenge missions layer onto the core game with specific objectives like clearing a target distance using only pistol shots or landing on three consecutive bounce pads.
